Support Disappears Later This Year

infinIT Windows 10 Migration Support.

  • Microsoft will no longer offer free security updates for Windows 10 as of October 14.
  • Security updates will still be available at a cost ($61) that seems palpable, but double every year. And how many Windows 10 machines can you afford to keep?!?
  • An environment of 10K Windows machines would cost your organization $61K year one, doubling every ear after ($122K, $244K, etc.)

DO IT! Do it, NOW!

infinIT Can HELP.

  • Provide a report to identify which PCs need to be replaced by testing your Win10 PCs.
  • Your PCs, computer network, and data infrastructure will not be protected without a Microsoft “tax.”
  • Many Windows 10 machines will not support Windows 11. Wait to upgrade and you’ll run the risk of supply chain nightmares in the form of scarcity and high prices.
  • Upgrade/Replace your Windows 10 computers now, while supply is available.

Is Your Organization Ready for Windows 11? You NEED to be.

Recently Microsoft announced the sunsetting of Windows 10 on 10/14/2025. Okay… it’s had a good run, but what does this mean to you and your organization?  No more support means no more security updates… unless you’re willing to pay for them. Well, that’s a great alternative for people who hate change, but consider just how much you will be forced to pay to keep your environment safe. Year one Microsoft will charge $61 per device.  Okay, that seems alright… but consider that every year thereafter Microsoft will double the costs. In other words, procrastinate to 2030 and you’ll be paying more than $1K a device!

Why is Microsoft doing this? Usually, a sunset is a literal sunset – but Windows 10 popularity is such that Microsoft cannot just walk away from it. Nearly 70% of Windows users are still running on Windows 10. While the platform is popular, many are holding onto the operating system because Windows 11 requires at least 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, often unreachable requirements for older equipment.

If you and your organization need to upgrade to Windows 11 or perhaps migrate to the cloud and a ‘thin client’ environment, please let us know and we’d be happy to help you explore your options!
