Make Sure You Replace Your (Microsoft) Windows 2012

You probably know this, but Microsoft ended support for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 late last year. This “end of life” means that Microsoft is ending free updates, bug fixes, and technical support to its popular operating system widely used in enterprise servers.

Now, you could purchase ‘Extended Security Updates’ until 2026, but reality is – if you’re still running Windows Server 2012 and get the extended security updates, it’s time now to plan to move off of it.

Microsoft’s recommendation is for Windows 2012 users is to migrate to the cloud or upgrade their on-prem servers to Windows Server 2022.

The infinIT team can help with either. A migration like this isn’t a simple task, so if you find yourself on this legacy platform, we’d encourage you to reach out to us!

Don’t forget – infinIT operates one of the leading data centers, so if you’re ready to make the move to the cloud, we’re a great option for an Azure switch.
